Suzanis were traditionally embroidered by brides-to-be in Central Asia and gifted to the groom on their wedding day. We therefore doubt that anyone has recently seen the antique textile which first got Charlotte thinking about this design. With six layers of colour, this complex pattern repeat took the best part of three years to perfect. So once you get your hands on it, we’d suggest you don’t give it away.
